Useradmin: Hotdesking
Hi,
In a hotdesking scenario (only deskphones) where employees have to login on a phone on the beginning of a workday. I create one userobject, called: "Please login", with just one "hotdesking" function key. Then I register every IP-phone on to this same userobject.
In order to do this I have to perform many manual steps to accomplish this. It would be nice to have this simplified.
In order to do this I have to perform many manual steps to accomplish this. It would be nice to have this simplified.
On this moment I have to take the following steps
- In the user-admin app I have to add hotdesking for every user (That one is easy to do, not much work
)
- logon on the web interface of every phone and setup the registration manually to the “Please login” object.
- then I have to enter the “Devices App URL” under “device registration” of every deskphone in order to have it appear in the devices app
- Once they appear in the devices app, I have to give them all a appropriate name and put them in the correct domain. All one by one.
- and as last step I have to put all the phones, again one by one, in the correct category (ip-phones), to be able to do a firmware update and to maintain the device.
This is a lot of work ...so now comes my question, it would be nice to be able to generate just one provisioning code to register all those deskphones to the same “hotdesking” userobject. This way, all the phones will be automatically show up in the devices app and will be in the correct domain and category. This would save me a lot of time.
Thanks for taking this in consideration and for voting on it
Best regards,
Chris
