App without database

Hello,

how can I create an app without an database?

As far as I have seen the app manager will create a new database for the app even if it is not using any database connection or tasks which create tables and so on.

Hi Sascha,

that's not possible. Simply don't use the database, that's all.

Hi Daniel,

that is not a good anwser for us since we are hosting several hundreds of ipva's for our customers and we are starting to create apps of our own.

If the metric which is shown in the app manager is correct then one database which is not used and completly empty will use up 7 MB for one instance.

Since we have multiple customers on one app manager it will blow up the backup and also the app manager it self.

One app with 100 instances would use up 700 MB if we have multiple of such apps we will have very fast giga bytes of data which is not used.

Is there a way that with a later release that it would be possible to add an app without a databse to the app manager?

A backup of such an empty database has a size of 6KB.

But the physical disk space of 7MB remains ...

We still may consider to add this in a later major release.
