Gatekeeper

:
The H.323 term for a call server. It performs endpoint registration, address resolution, admission control, user authentication and more based on the RAS protocol. Although an optional component, innovaphone H.323 scenarios virtually always include one or more gatekeeper.

In innovaphone speak, the gatekeeper is a software component within the relay that allows both SIP and H.323 endpoints to register. This is used in fish-help.png special scenarios only.
