3PTY
:
Acronym for 3Party Conference. A.k.a. three way calling.
A three party conference is an ad-hoc audio conference with 3 participants which is initiated by one of the 3 parties. The initiating party is connected to both remaining parties before (one of them usually being held).
Within the innovaphone PBX, 3PTY is entirely implemented in the endpoint (i.e. IP phone). The audio mixing capability is provided by the endpoint and the conference setup and tear-down is done by the phone. The conference as such is transparent to the PBX, that is, the PBX does not know about the conference.
This approach scales well, as anyone using an appropriate phone can use the feature and there is no limitation with respect to the number of concurrent conferences. However, it also implies that the feature usually does not work with DECT, analogue or 3rd party phones.

42 is the Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything
A group of hyper-intelligent pan-dimensional beings once demanded to learn the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything from a supercomputer, Deep Thought, specially built for this purpose. It took Deep Thought 7½ million years to compute and check the answer, which turned out to be 42. Unfortunately, the Ultimate Question itself remains unknown until now.
It is a standard for port based security. It secures physical ports by enforcing a user authentication before allowing data transfer through a given Ethernet switch port. The endpoint needs to perform this authentication in order to be able to communicate.
Indication of an error situation that should be fixed to ensure smooth operation of the system. An alarm is triggered by an event indicating the situation and is removed by a corresponding event that indicates the problem went away.
