MWI

:
Message Waiting Indicator. An indicator that there is a voicemail message for the owner of an account.

RFC

:
Request for Comment. A document that describes an aspect of an internet technology. An RFC may be a proposed, draft or full internet standard.

MSN

:

Acronym for Multiple Subscriber Number.

MSN is a facility whereby you can have more than one telephone number allocated to one Isdn line.

Usually get up to 3 MSN numbers. Up to 10 MSN´s are possible on one Isdn line.



DDI

:

Acronym for Direct Dial In. Sometimes also called DID (Direct Inward Dialling).

DDI is the ability to call directly to an extension when calling in to the PBX through a trunk line. This features may be available for both ISDN or SIP trunks. With ISDN, this is available for Point to Point connections.

When the feature is not present, inbound calls to the PBX may be routed either to the switchboard or to an IVR application that allows callers to specify the desired extension.

STUN

:
STUN is an acronym for Simple traversal of UDP over NATs. It defines a mechanism that allows UDP based applications within a network using private IP addresses to learn their external IP address and port so that they can communicate with peers which reside within the public internet (and thus cannot send IP packets directly to a private IP address). The STUN server may be implemented by the IP router connecting the private network to the public internet (innovaphone devices have a STUN server from v11r1) or by a STUN server in the internet.

NAT

:
Acronym for Network Address Translation. This is a general term for the process of IP rewriting address information in communication between peers with private and public IP addresses.

SIP Interface

:
Special interface on innovaphone gateway designed to setup SIP trunks to providers. It is configurable under Administration -> Gateway -> SIP and is limited to a maximum amount of 16 interfaces per device.

UNC Path

Acronym for Universal Naming Convention. Provides a uniform syntax to describe the name of a network resource such as a file.

In Microsoft Windows, the syntax looks like \\host\share\path\file. host usually denotes the name of a network server. share denotes an entry point to the servers file system that has been made available to network users and path\file is the path to the resource blow that entry point.

For innovaphone boxes that have a WebDAV service (e.g. to provide access to the devices local CF card), you would use the devices ip address as host, drive as share and cf0\dir\file as path, e.g. \\172.16.0.10\drive\cf0\log\LOG0.0.txt.
