multiple mail account configured at user object
Customer ask to have a copy of each sended and received fax, for archiviation and monitoring purpose.
Including notification.

The solution may be, to permit a multiple (3 or more) configuration of mail account on a "PBX User", so each time a fax was received or sended, faxserver can send incoming fax and notification (for the outgoing) on each mail configured on a "PBX User" (if I remember correctly, in an initial beta this was possible).
But as actually work, isn't possible to duplicate a mail account on more than one pbx user, so may be necessary also to permit a duplication of mail account on more than one "PBX User".

Central configuration on faxserver (as faxadmin) may be not correctly or may be more limited, respect the solution proposed as multile account on PBX User, because in enterprise with more structured department may be want to have a copy in more than one office (archiviation or register and/or protocol purpose).

Re: multiple mail account configured at user object
Antonio,

the mail attribute is a key field to the user. So no 2 objects may have the same mail assigned. So this will be hard to do.

But for your requirement, can't you define a mailing list in your mail server environment?

Re: multiple mail account configured at user object
Yes We have configured at the moment a mail alias which permit to send and receive as expected. But in the following scenario, this not resolve the request of the customer:
One fax number for some user with a mail alias configured, but the customer need for some user of the mail alias, that they see only the notification of the mail sended personally and not all the mail sended and they shouldn't see the received mail, with only two user which can see all the mail sended and received.
The only solution which I see, seems to accept more than one mail in PBX User, the first configured as the mail user which receive all incoming fax, the other configured only for authentication purpose, to permitting to send a fax.

Have You any other idea or can suggests a workaround to resolve the problem?

Thank You so much

Re: multiple mail account configured at user object
Would be a solution to implement automatic duplicate mailing of the incoming and the outgoing mails from fax server to a particular additional mailbox a solution for you?

For example, all incoming and outgoing fax messages are sent to some configurable mailbox?

Re: multiple mail account configured at user object
The idea is to have one configurable mailbox at the Faxserver, e.g. faxarchive@mycompany.com, where all sent and received fax messages are duplicated.

Re: multiple mail account configured at user object
Yes Andreas,
I confirm, this is the possible solution. Seems to be a good idea.
This is configurable as per domain? To permit this for each domain managed by the faxserver?

Thank You so much

Re: multiple mail account configured at user object
Yes, i would say it should be individually configurable at least for every Faxserver instance.

Re: multiple mail account configured at user object
Hello Antonio,

So the discussed solution at the end seems to differ slightly from your initial post. Could you create a new post with updated description and vote it?

In fact it should contain following information:

  • what exactly is the issue that is to be solved?
  • why is it worth spending the effort to resolve the issue?
  • what exactly is your suggestion to solve the issue?
As described here: http://class.innovaphone.com/moodle2/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=15617

Thank you!

Best Regards
