config Power of loop
Hi,

I have several questions about the config of power of loop between 2 IP6000
My first IP6000 is master and the second is the slave-standby
The master has the PRI connection

If I understand correctly the wiki:
http://wiki.innovaphone.com/index.php?title=Howto:Looping_in_a_innovaphone_Gateway

I just must configure 'Activate 'power-off loop' relay' in Interface/PRI1and "Enable PCM" in Gateway ? After if my master is down, the calls are passed through PRI1 => PRI2 (Master) => PRI1 of slave ?

I need configure anything else on the slave? Just incoming routes?

Thanks in advance!

Re: config Power of loop
Hi Jean-Francois,

You have to connect the PRI1 Interface of the Master to the Provider an the PRI2 Interface of the Master to the PRI1 Interface of the StandBy. Watch out for the cable length between master and StandBy.

In the StandBy you must have the same in- and outgoing route, number mapping and so on between PBX-trunk-Object and the PRI1 Interface as in the Master.
You have to configure the master and the standby as if they have its own connections from PRI1 to a Provider.

Normally PRI1 on the Standby is down. Upon failure of the Master, the PRI of the master is switched through the PRI1 of the standby.

Re: config Power of loop
thanks for your feedback

So no need to configure option 'power-off loop' relay' in Interface/PRI1 and "Enable PCM" in Gateway ?

Re: config Power of loop
I have a second question. On the master, my PBX trunk Object with "0" is register with the GW1

I need to register the GW1 of my standby if I want to make outgoing call when the master is down. But when the Master is up and a user make an outside call, two record for PBX trunk Object 0 will be present. It's a problem.

I have read a new once the lesson in ICE training. I don't understand the good solution to implement

Re: config Power of loop
Hi,

for what are you using a GW1?

You can register the PRI interface directly to the local Trunk Object.
The PRI of the Master to the IP-Adress of the Master, the PRI of the StandBy to the IP-Adress of the StandBy PBX.

If the Master is up, the user are register on the master PBX and use the trunk object of the Master which is routet directly to the PRI Interface on the Master.

If the Master is down, the user are register on the StandBy PBX and use the trunk object of the StandBy which is routet directly to the PRI Interface on the StandBy.

Re: config Power of loop
"Enable PCM" is not necessarily required because there is no routing between several PRIs.

With the "power-off loop relay" i'm unsure.
I think that you can switch the power-off-relay directly with this option. You can hear the relay when you activate this option.
Perhaps only an method to test the Configuration and simulate a power failure?

Re: config Power of loop
exactly. This allows you for example to tie in a box in to the trunk line of a legacy PBX in the early morning, spend the morning with configuring the box (legacy PBX operation is not disturbed) and put it into operation in the lunch break.
