Successfully used mSATA's
Hi all,
as queries increase concerning successful used mSATA's within our new xx11/11xx devices, we will open a thread for documentation here.

Main requirements for the mSATA are min. 8 GB, 3.3 V, max. power consumption 2.5W, throughput min. 3 Gb/s, format JEDEC MO-300.

At innovaphone, we did some tests with several manufacturers and at the end concluded best to go for this one:
  • APACER APSDM032GM1HN-7TM
It provides 32GB memory and - as MLC model - 28TB write endurance.

Now you are called to add your experiences with other models below - thx!

Volker

Note:

Apacer announced EOL for the above mentioned model APSDM032GM1HN-7TM.

Successor is Apacer APSDM032GM1HN-GTM1

Re: Successfully used mSATA's
Hallo Volker,

Do you tested the MXSSD2MMSLF-32G from Mach Xtreme Technology, what are your experience here?

Have you also experience with the SANDISK Z400s SSD 32GB?

Best regards,

Sebastian

Re: Successfully used mSATA's
Hi Sebastian,

no we haven't tested the mentioned models.
As long as it fits to the mentioned requirements it should work,

Re: Successfully used mSATA's
Hi all,

we've done some more tests with several mSATAs and can currently recommend the following models:

Apacer
APSDM032G APSDM032GM1HN-GTM1
Datasheet

potential supplier

Transcend MSA370 32G
Datasheet
potential supplier

Sandisk Z400s 32G
Datasheet
potential supplier

Due to performance reasons of Transcend and SanDisk, one may better go for their 128G models.

Re: Successfully used mSATA's
Hallo,

i am surprised, that the Transcend MSA370 32G is recommended.
In the Wiki of the IP411 is described that the SSD must have a max power consumption of 2,5W. But on the Transcend Website  http://www.transcend.de/Products/No-576 is propagate the information that the SATA III Models have a power consumption of 3.85W.
Only the SATAII Model has less than 2,5W.

How could it be.

Re: Successfully used mSATA's
Hello,
guess the value mentioned in your webpage is a "safe" maximum value valid for all subtypes of this model.
In our given PDF, there's a differentation between the submodels and their specific power consumption.
In any case both PDFs are issued by Transcend.
