How to change the coder, despite DHCP lease?
Hello all!
Is there some possibility to setup the coder in the phone, if he was leased from the DHCP? I was try to send this command: !config change PHONE SIG /coder G729,20, /no-dhcp,
but "/no-dhcp" switch is not working in this case.

Hello Martin,

if I understand the request right you want to configure the right coder for your phones over the DHCP Server?

You will find this information in our Wiki. Here ist the link.

Re: How to change the coder, despite DHCP lease?
I think he is asking how to configure the coder not using DHCP although the DHCP lease has a coder setting. This is not possible as far as I know.

The /no-dhcp option is only present in the UP1 module (I checked the sources smile). It is recommended to remove settings which are not to be applied universally from the DHCP lease and use the update server instead.

What you can do is to add the /no-vendor option to the DHCP0 module. In this case, all vendor options are discarded in this client. However DHCP standard options would still be in effect. Coder settings is a vendor option.

This isn't exactly what I need, but using this switch I was solved my needs at this time.
Lot of thanks!

Re: How to change the coder, despite DHCP lease?
Do you want to configure the coder manually (i.e. for testings purposes) even though you get the coder from your DHCP?

If this is your intention I would be interested too.

Until now you need to deactivate the DHCP-Client of your phone and manually configure everything, as DHCP configuration has priority.

Manually configured options should have an override.

Cheers,

Carlos

Re: How to change the coder, despite DHCP lease?
No, it is'nt my situation.
I've coder configured over the DHCP, but on one IP111 I need different coder (despite DHCP config) and at the same time all other config (obtained from DHCP) still remain.
I don't want to change from the DHCP client to the static IPv4 configuration, due this.
Exactly as Carlos talk too.
Is it more clear?

Re: How to change the coder, despite DHCP lease?
Thank you for clarifying.
With DHCP it is not possible. DHCP wins always. You can use an update script. But I think this is a little bit to much for one phone.
