Defective IP112's
Hi everyone

Just wanted to check if more users/resellers are experiencing a lot of issues with certain IP112's

The past year and half we had to request an RMA for over 15 (maybe 20) of these devices, all with the same issue:
- Flickering white screen (or continiously white screen) as from power-on
- + no access to config page when this is happening
- + no reaction on keypresses when this is happening.

We already addressed this to our account manager and asked if this is a known issue but this was denied...

We find it very unfortunate that no information of feedback is given after RMA.
The device is sent back without any information of what kind of repair happened. The only thing we see is that on the back the HW code is striked through with a marker and a new number is written on it...

Also our requests to get any feedback on repairs are not answered...

I now have 3 broken devices next to me with HW 700 and Datacode 02/17
These all failed within a week.

Good morning Matthias,

I understand your concern after having such a high amount of failures.

Looking at it I personally would suspect my POE switch causing these failures. Do you use one POE switch for all devices?

we would suspect the POE switch too, but failures are occuring at diffrent customers with diffrent setups... smile

With the first IP111 and IP112 we had also a lot of problems. I think we had 10% RMAs. Maybe the production-date 02/17 are the last of this problematic production. I know the white flickering screen and screens wich are loosing contrast. But they are failed within the first months.
I think you have to talk with your distributor if you get this devices fresh. I'm sure, that we have a very low failure rate of devices which are delivered from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

I understand. We've only recently started using InnovaPhone and the first batch of IP112's I have used is Hardware [804] and the more recent is Hardware [805]. None of them have shown signs of screen problems or any other kind of failure. But as I read the German topic I'd say it definately is a batch related problem. And like others already said, too bad they don't acknowledge.

Pretty sad to see that there are so many listed defects for over the years and this is not acknowledged as a "kwown issue".

As someone states in one of the posts: you can send phones for repair and you will eventually get one back in working order... but when warranty stops you are f*cked... knowing that the problem will occur sooner or later and Innovaphone refuses to repair the devices in one batch...

Only ad-hoc repairs for broken devices are accepted! sad

No, not over the years! I think 1st batch had the problem with a to strong hook-switch, 2nd had the display-problems. Every device was exchanged over RMA and now we have a low (normal) failure ratio.
As I wrote the phones died after few monts, so I guess that you received old devices and so you have the problem.
Innovaphone can't repair the batch - it was delivered to distributors and dealers, because in this time they had delivery-problems and so there was no device in stock for enough time to call it back.
Not every device is affacted - we have also devices from this time which are working without any problem until now.

As I know Innovaphone they will find a solution for your problem.

Hi. We have same problems with same symptoms on IP111. Approx. 20pcs IP111 items from one batch had broken in first year and +1 is broking every 2 months till now. What did you mean "As I know Innovaphone they will find a solution for your problem"?
